Mrs Soto's Earth Science Class Blog
This blog was created with the original intent of intellectual scientific discussion between the members of a group of 7th graders taking 9th grade science in a Florida public middle school. That idea quickly fizzled out, and we kept it going throughout our eighth grade year, in which we took 10th grade biology, and through ninth grade, in which we were separated into different high schools. Now we're juniors, and still try to hang on to each other via this blog, wherever the wind blows us.

What the truck?
I thought I told it to say "happy birthday isa" real big. so why does it go real small? let us try this again.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ISA!!!!!!!

I know this is a day late, but...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ISA!!!!!!!!!
anyway, cheating on homework could be more preventable by assigning more individual, essay-type, "how would you do x" type things, instead of answering questions where the answers are right in the book, and there's only one right response.
as to tests, maybe make a policy that all backpacks must be left by the door upon entrance to the class on test days. maybe go as far as turning out pockets and stuff?

Cheatproof
I have to agree with Rick. A life-threatening environment would work best. But, just in case that is out of the budget, or illegal, or something like that, the best I can recommend is to keep the students away from each other and be attentive. Or you could not just give them an F on the test, but make them fail the entire quarter/year for cheating.

Violence
Well Ms.Soto as being right as of now a current student of a SCHOOL. Or a proffesional learning enviorment i would say that for me the best way to push me away away fro mthe evils of chesting would to be to put a high voltage dog colalr around my throat. Also a on standby guard with knives numchucks and velcro and maybe even one of those things that when you rub them togdether they make that horrendeous squeech. Then i can almost put my left nut on the table that i would never cheat in that class but thats just my suggestion.
What are the most frequent ways to cheat in class?
You all know that I try to run an honest and fair classroom. I find that as I get older (and slower...hard to admit or believe) I need to "keep my edge". Now that you are long gone from my influence upon your academic records, help me prevent cheating in my classroom. What ways should I look out for? Can I implement any cheat free strategies. What would you identify as the top 10 ways students cheat these days??? RSVP.
And, of course I know you never cheated, but I bet you met someone on a dark and dreary night who once shared a cabride with somebody who did cheat at Carver...
