The Good Old Days

How are my non-seventh but always advanced students??

My, this blog has been a survivor...a whimpering, but rugged survivor ;and college along with real life is just around the corner.

I spent the summer traveling. Went white water rafting, hot air ballooning in Wyoming, and in Alaska landed in a little plane on a glacier for a snowball fight (at 8000 ft) and took off by just pointing the plane's skis toward the edge of the mountain.

Please tell me what you are up to. This is my 4th group of E/S. Every one is unique. There have been no repeats of your act. Love, Little Rita

huh

well i dont think anyone reads this blog any more but just in case.. it's been a long time since we were 7th graders apprehensive about taking an advanced class. 4 years ago we all met and became friends, some have lost touch (i barely talk to u guys, except for the ones attending reef and for that i am sorry). we are now juniors with 2 years left of high skool which im sure will fly rather quickly. im not sure why im writing this but with skool about to start im feeling a bit nostalgic for the middle skool days that werent stressed with 4,000 word essays and insane projects yet to come. i also miss you guys that i see once in a blue moon. well skool starts in a little over 2 weeks. how are ur lives and schedules? i see some of u are taking ap calculus, good luck with that. fortunately that course is not offered to juniors at reef (that i noe of) so ill end up taking that next year, 2 years of calculus sounds great huh guys =] and how are ur science classes? its hl chem for me with a less that substandard teacher (or so ive heard, i think i'll withhold judgment till i actually meet the guy) im still in german, but only one class (finally i'll have an elective!!) i'm taking psychology so i'll b able to evaluated how crazy u all hav gotten haha! i hope at least one of u reads this, i'd rly like to hear from u guys. enjoy the rest of ur summer and hope skool goes well for u!

hey guys

guess it kinda blows that this died out.

okay, let's have a competition.
WEIRDEST THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOU OVER CHRISTMAS BREAK:
my entry: my four-year-old cousin initiated a wedding, marrying me and his toy stuffed hedgehog. so i'm mrs hedgehog, i guess.

his eight-year-old sister was getting serious about the planning:
she wanted to know if i brought any white dresses in my suitcase.
ME: ah, no.
ANNE: white skirts?
ME: no.
ANNE: ANY skirts?
ME: ...a green one and a blue one.
ANNE: oh bother! well, where should we have the wedding?
ME: i dunno, anne.
ANNE: how about granny's room?
ME: um, anne, i'm not so sure about this anymore. it's kinda turning into a bigger deal than i wanted.
ALEX (the four-year-old): (with a strong yorkshire accent, and a stutter) um, emilay, you are marrying the hedgehog!
GRANNY: emily, have you got any boyfriends?
ALEX: NO, she is marrying the hedgehog! it will be her hooz-band!
ME: (sigh)

Merry Christmas Everybody!

I don't know if anyone still even reads this thing, but it can't hurt to post. I mean the last post was by me 21 days ago. Oh well. I'll be leaving for Tennessee bright and early tomorrow morning until the second. I'll probably have internet access over there and be able to log on, but in case I can't, Happy 2007! as well.

A Bit Belated (Maybe)

I had my bottom wisdom teeth removed on Friday, but forgot to announce it, in case anyone cares. I swelled up pretty badly, and it still hasn't subsided, making today a fairly interesting school day. Some people didn't notice, others were confused, some thought I had something in my mouth, and others automatically knew what it was. Like I said, interesting (and a little tedious having to explain to people so many times). I'll probably post a picture of me on Saturday night, when the swelling was really bad, though probably on my MySpace. So stop on by.

Lastly, happy belated birthday to anyone who's birthday I might have missed or forgotten (I'm really bad with dates).

OH MY!

I believe you're 16. A couple weeks ago.
Happy birthday, bro. A bit belated.
And I'm glad the Wii is good--it came out on my birthday.

Speaking of birthdays, MARIA'S was October 30th, so you were the first among us to be 16. Happy day to you too, my baby.

Happy Turkey Day Everybody!

Or Thanksgiving as it is more often called. I just like saying Turkey Day.

Not much to report on this end. I assume everyone else will be stuffing their faces today with all kinds of delicious foods, like me (maybe), so that's not really news. The one bit of news I do have however, is that... I GOT A Wii! And it is amazing.

Various Comments

I'm so bad at coming up with titles. That ^ sucks, but its the best I could come up with.

Anyways, Caitlin, you don't have to worry. You won't get spammed or anything from the contest. I didn't watch the teacher thing nor the debate, but I can agree that the politics here are pretty ridiculous. All the candidates do is point the finger at the other, without coming up with any real plans for doing anything.

I found the article interesting. Something definitely needs to be done. I wonder how they come up with some of those numbers, though. How do you measure how many resources and how much waste the entire planet can produce or discard? There's a lot of planet.

Donnaaaa

I saw your mother at the grocery store!

Thursday, October 12, 2006

totally agreed

I listened to most of it.
Mr Blackmon, our IB TOK and HL history teacher spoke; he was pretty decent compared to the rest of them.

And true, she didn't have a conniption, but she certainly bitched someone out at one point that I remember. Hahaha.
My English teacher said something interesting today though. There are 20,000 teachers in Miami-Dade. On any given day. 1600 call in sick. On Wednesday, (get ready), 1900 called in sick. 300 more. She was irritated because there are so many teachers who are upset about their salaries (and justifiably so), but who didn't come to protest because they're used to the system and don't feel like they can make a difference.

Well, call me a pessimist, but really, is anything actually going to come of this?
I hope so, but yesterday's vibe was not pretty.

..

well i thought this thing had died. i clicked the link on a whim today (perhaps further procrastination? who knows) either way im glad its been revived. Donna and bellybutton piercing..hmm i guess ive been away too long. donna why have u and i not talked since 8th grade? or most ppl on this blog for that matter. its kinda sad =(. i have also had a shitload of homework, today including, which i hav not rly bothered to do bc..idk, it bores me. honestly the only class i like rite now is ap bio. i hate german..(what else is new) with a new and deeper fiery passion. it keeps me from having an elective although i must admit having german first period is rather convenient (hw gets done then, plus an extra hour of sleep). math is ok, too bad i suck at it. i will never use pre calc in life but hey w/e. oh and finally, this summer, my german will be put into use, im going on a eurotrip to germany, venice and other places. supposedly thats my 16th bday present, although honestly i would have rather gone to colombia, shrug itll be fun i guess. i'm still in gymnastics so that takes up a lot of time. im there for 4 hours 3,4 and sometimes 5 times a week. as u can tell, i dont get out much. my fridays are rarely spent with friends..i should change that though. i hope i can see u guys soon. perhaps arranging a get together or something, idk. keep the blog alive =]

Various, Unrelated, and somewhat Belated Topics

First of all, Join my Least I Could Do Team!
There's really no reason not to. You could win fabulous prizes, and all you have to do is read an amzing comic strip. Come on. If you don't like clicking on the link, you can just go to http://contest.leasticoulddo.com/. Yeah, i know that's another link, but nothin's stopping you from typing it in yourself.

Second, Dr. Hood (our physics teacher), does not suck. She is awesome. I don't know why some people think she is a bad teacher, or what more they think she could do.

Third, for your information, Donna, (and everyone else's too, I guess) you were one of the hot, not so scantily clad ladies at the football game, though the rolled up shirt was nice.

Lastly, I had loads of homework this weekend, though that's mostly because of all the assignments I have backlogged. Once I get caught up everywhere, everything should stabalize (I hope). The amount of homework I get is serioudly eating up my life. That's basically all I do on any given weekend. I haven't even played a video game in months, and I have Okami and Kingdom Hearts 2 sitting in my room, not to mention Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy 7, which I really need to rent. Plus, Final Fantasy 12 and Splinter Cell: Double Agent both come out within the next two weeks!

That's all for now.

Really Good Comic

I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but you guys should really check out Least I Could Do. It's a great comic. The reason I'm mentioning it right now is because they are currently holding a contest. So
Join my Least I Could Do Team!
There's really no reason not to, since both people can benefit. And like I said, its a great comic. I don't know if you'll need it, but I signed up using my gmail address, Omniharomeki@gmail.com.

aye, rubber band stunt

that thing that Gio was talking about, where you "stretch out a rubber band and write the answers on it and then let it go back to its normal size and then they're gone."

It sounds mighty difficult.

Rubber band stunt?

Whositwhatsit now?

And yes, I did have fun at homecoming. If you pass by my MySpace (same screen name Omniharomeki), you can see some pictures.

This weekend has also been great for me to catch up, though I'm still not completely caught up, even though I've been working for almost the entire weekend.

There's a Difference

Besides the obvious, while one is good, the other tends to not be.

The getting out of school sooner early release was great. I went to the freshman v. sophomore traditional football game. We totally OWNED them. It was pathetic. They couldn't make a single touchdown, nor most of the time a pass. Their QB was eating dirt half the time. There were a lot of hot, scantily clad and not so scantily clad ladies there too, which just made everything better. However, the game ended early on account of some freshman messing up his leg, which kinda sucked.

In other news... Actually, there isn't much else to report. Nothing really exciting happening in my life. Wii details were released, but alas, the console doesn't come out 'til November 19th. At least it gives me something to look forward to. I'm also going to try and pass by EB this weekend to get Dirge of Cerberus and/or Okami, and probably preorder the Wii. Might also go to the movies; there is a lot of good stuff out now.

Lastly, for anyone watching Anime around here, which I think is no one, Trinity Blood and Bleach premiered two weeks ago on [adult swim], and they are both awesome. Also, I'm by episode 130 of Naruto, which is the Sasuke v. Naruto waterfall battle.

hahahahaha!

"early release... hmm.
reminds me of premature ejaculation."

LOLOLOLOLOLOL.

oh, and....

thank you donna!

man, remember the days...

sucking on a cherry pit

my physics teacher talked about how close Mars was going to get today.
i didn't have the heart to correct her.
especially since it's been four days, four classes, and all we've done is have her read the school policies to us numerous times, and read an article of GPS from a 2001 Science World.

should be an interesting class.

Wednesday, August 16, 2006

it ate it

first off, marcos done speak the truth. about the it suxx bit, anyway.

onward, ay ay ay, poor maria. poor, insane, out of her mind maria. =/
-virtual hug-
and poor marcos, too.
oy, i didn't know you did karate? what's your belt? ali, caitlin and i are nearly green (but in tae kwon do).

interestingly, i am taking no APs this year.
they plugged me into two wrong classes, so i had an interesting day. i was in computer programming C++ and AP spanish lit, instead of PE and Spanish for Speakers 6. Ah, you ask, but how can emmy have PE in IB? some weird thing involving groups 4 and 6 (which for me will be biology and physics), and how the set track for sophomore year in both involves Physics honors, and i needn't take it twice. so i got a freebie. maybe it was dumb to do PE instead of french or something, but i don't particularly mind, seeing as i had no elective freshman year, and won't have any junior or maybe even senior year.

i'm not doing the IB history track, because i hate it and suck at it, and am instead doing the psychology track for my social studies. my physics class looks really easy thus far. the teacher is, regrettably, most dimwitted. but i have levenstein in that class, so all shall be good.
i somewhat regret not taking the computers, cause the guy seemed really cool. but whatever, man.
pre-calc is fine... so far.
my english teacher is insane. she has this ultra-anal thing about tardiness. your first infraction is okay. your second involves singing and dancing for the class with this stuffed hamster who sings "play that funky music white boy", and the third is a 1500 word essay. the word count increases by 300 with each infraction. now how i am going to get from the new building to room 307 without being late is beyond me. oy vey..
my psych teacher seems awesome, even if she's having a baby in january. she plays red hot chili peppers and the postal service (!!!) in class. i think we'll be friends. =D

and i wanted to say, mrs soto, i'm really really digging "red rock" right now, by beasts of paradise. it's speaking to me. =]

Sounds a lot like My Life

I also have 3 AP classes, and even though no IB, 4 honors. I will (probably) start crew after school soon, and then I have karate after that, so my weekends are also my only free time.

so, how goes all?

how was every1s first day of skool? about half an hour in, i realized i was in desperate need of caffeine. they have once again messed up the german class. its retarded, they hav german level 6 IS students (us) with SL and HL IS students (juniors from carver) one senior hu started german in freshman year, and like 10 kids hu started german in 6th grade. no one cares about the german program =( (i wouldnt either if i had been put in spanish). anyways they gave me the wrong math class, i was supposed to be in IB pre calc and they gave me the easier IB math. my ap bio teacher is awesum though, shes quite funny and treats us like adults, lets us sit where we want and is rly slack as long as we do the work. ah and i start physics tomorrow, finally. so let me see 3 ap classes, one IB class, physics online and gym after skool. so i guess my weekends have been reserved for sleep, hehe.
