Holy goddamn FUCK. This thing is pretty incredible. I got up at 7:10 on Friday, and went outside. It was like "huh? OK...where's the street???" All the enormous boughs from trees outside our house were all over our driveway, yard, street... there were two trees down within 30 yards of us, but luckily, they fell into the street, not houses. The park (Merrie Christmas) was a veritable lake. We went walking around...climbed on top of a mini mountain made by the root ball of a phycus that was at a 90 degree angle to the ground...we checked on Mr Hudson (yeah, it sounds stupid) but it looks like they're at Grandma's or something.
We haven't had power since Thursday, and still don't. My mom's office got it late last night, and on Saturday's the aircon is on from 9-1. Once it turns off, it gets real hot real fast, but we're not sure which is worse: office or house. Parents are debating whether or not to sleep here. On floor? Ick. Ah vell.
So we took all our freezer stuff (i.e. meat--funa nyama, inkos) to the MacLarens' yesterday, because they have a generator, although all it can power is the refrigerator and computer. No aircon, or lights...we brought like the milk and stuff to the little office fridge...and the kettle too, so we can finally have tea! Yes! (Tea is a major thing at my house--every morning, afternoon, and night, at the very least.)
My mom said that post-Andrew, we had no power for three entire weeks.
Lord, I have so much homework. I spent Thursday morning putting up shutters in the rain, then Thursday afternoon, el power went kaput. Friday was spent sawing and hauling los branches, then over to los MacLarens in the afternoon. Today is Saturday...I better do some here, at the office.
Marcos, I'm finally entirely up to speed on Misfile. Yay.
And word on if school is open Monday?
Isa? You were absolutely right, and I see how wrong I was (am?). Please?
