I HAVE POWER AGAIN!

WOOT! I can live in my own house again, use my own stuff again, and everything. It's AWESOME.

But not having power is nothing compared to what happened to New Orleans and Mississippi. It's a complete calamity over there. The water is 10+ feet high, reaching 22 Ft in some places. And the horror strories. People getting trapped in their attic for 3 days, and the 20,000 people stuck in that Big Dome thing. WOW. Dr. Khalil really elucidated (clarified) the situation for us. Those people have no lives anymore, no house, no clothes, no food, no money, nothing. It's truly horrific.

Also, in Baghdad, there was a stampede (of people) after a bomb scare when thousands were going to some religious thing, and more than 800 people have died, mostly women and children, from being trampled and suffocated by the crowd. An atrocious way to go.

yeah

It's absolutely petrifying. The mayor, before the evacuation, said something like "take a good look at the city as you leave...it'll be the last time you see it". And it didn't even hit it straight-on, as it was expected to. Those poor poor people. In Inquiry today, we started talking about it, and there were some horrifying stories people told from the news. Mr Fitts, in history, said he spoke to some relatives there and thank goodness they're safe.
Really. This kind of stuff teaches you to really respect the earth. I mean, we can fuck with nature, but it can fuck right back.

but yeah

mazel tov on your power. I dunno what those of us without will do, but it'll be a good excuse for homework.

crap. i have to go home to a 100 degree house. goddamnit.

goddamnit

eh, probably not. but dammit. i have no power. no food. no shower. they want me to go to school???????
i guess i better do some homework.

HE LIES

HE DIDN'T CALL ME TO TELL ME THERE WAS NO SCHOOL! AM I NOT IN YOUR PHONEBOOK YOU INSUFFERABLE RIGGIFIED AVOCADO SELLER?
-and yes, an avocado would be lovely. :]

Hello

No before you think it I do not have power. Im at miami dade college and on the computer. We wont be getting power for a while since the whole fucking pole split in half and theres no way to get in there. So ya ive been selling avocados. Ive made alot of money surprisingly.
Yesterday I called EVERYONE on my cell phone to let them no there was no skool. I have given my self that job. O.o. Soo many posts but im not gonna read em ok uh so ill post again when i have power or a comp.

-Want an avocado?

i was wrong

at the time yesterday i said there was school, the m-dcps web site said there was. there is probably tomorrow. ew.

No School on Monday

Woot! Although, I still don't have power, making this the worst five day weekend ever. Hopefully I'll get it back soon. I'm still staying at my aunt's house. I'm surprised Donna hasn't posted yet even though she has power.

Emily, congrats on reading all of Misfile.

puke

there IS school tomorrow.

Words on folks

Erik has no power, and is at some relative's.
Riggy has no power either, and is selling avocados. 5 for a dollar.
Donna's phones are't up. I tried. She's Emily N's neighbor, so I take it she's out too...although, wait, if Emily had power...how'd you have power???
Caitlin has no power...and since she and Giovanna are neighbors, I take it Giovanna has none either. Allison has no power...(at least, she didn't yesterday)...
I think that's all I know.
I *think* Doral has power, because a few hours after we lost ours, I texted Yando and he said he still had. Although that could have chnged by now. So don't quote me on it.

Ahem

Holy goddamn FUCK. This thing is pretty incredible. I got up at 7:10 on Friday, and went outside. It was like "huh? OK...where's the street???" All the enormous boughs from trees outside our house were all over our driveway, yard, street... there were two trees down within 30 yards of us, but luckily, they fell into the street, not houses. The park (Merrie Christmas) was a veritable lake. We went walking around...climbed on top of a mini mountain made by the root ball of a phycus that was at a 90 degree angle to the ground...we checked on Mr Hudson (yeah, it sounds stupid) but it looks like they're at Grandma's or something.
We haven't had power since Thursday, and still don't. My mom's office got it late last night, and on Saturday's the aircon is on from 9-1. Once it turns off, it gets real hot real fast, but we're not sure which is worse: office or house. Parents are debating whether or not to sleep here. On floor? Ick. Ah vell.
So we took all our freezer stuff (i.e. meat--funa nyama, inkos) to the MacLarens' yesterday, because they have a generator, although all it can power is the refrigerator and computer. No aircon, or lights...we brought like the milk and stuff to the little office fridge...and the kettle too, so we can finally have tea! Yes! (Tea is a major thing at my house--every morning, afternoon, and night, at the very least.)
My mom said that post-Andrew, we had no power for three entire weeks.
Lord, I have so much homework. I spent Thursday morning putting up shutters in the rain, then Thursday afternoon, el power went kaput. Friday was spent sawing and hauling los branches, then over to los MacLarens in the afternoon. Today is Saturday...I better do some here, at the office.
Marcos, I'm finally entirely up to speed on Misfile. Yay.
And word on if school is open Monday?

Isa? You were absolutely right, and I see how wrong I was (am?). Please?

Hurricane Stuff

Well, I don't have power either. I'm having to type this from my aunt's house, that does (obviously) have power. But I'm not surprised. Our power always goes out for even the slightest reason. In fact, I even called it. I told my mom that our power would go out and ten minutes later, it was gone. Though this time I think it's serious. Right before the power went out we all heard weird electrical sounds. It seems two wires got crossed or something, creating a lot of sparks and the strange noises. The worst part is that my other aunt called the FPL and they said that 90% of people who have lost power should have it back by Teusday, and that the other 10% should have it back by Friday. We're probably in the 10%. Crap!

Yesterday, when the power went out, at night, we kept ourselves amused plying cards under bad candlelight and using various portable electronic devices, such as the Portable DVD player, the iPod, and the PSP. It was hard to sleep without air conditioning and I had to wake up early because the windows were open and the sunlight came in. Then, I stepped outside to help clean up, and I was AMAZED. Our yard was a mess. There were fallen and cracked branches, shingles, and assorted debris EVERYWHERE. And we got off easy. Nothing got damaged, because everything fell on the ground, not on the house or cars. But some people had entire trees fall over onto their houses. And there was this huge, centuries old tree, toppled onto the street. It was amazing. The force of nature is truly awe-inspiring.

So anyways, I'm staying at my aunt's house today. I still have some homework to do and I'll have to do it eventually. Blehh. Hopefully everything will be resolved soon. The worst part is that the air conditioning and other stuff will probably be down in MAST on Monday.

About global warming. We have to do something. Fortunately, now that more people are being informed, especially us, and the problem is really starting to manifest, we'll (hopefully) start doing something about with more vigor.

Emily Misfile

Go back and read the beginning. The very beginning. All is explained in Pages 10-18 of Book 1.

wait a sec, marcos

why does Rumisiel get tom select genders? what folder? *is confused*

um...

donna? wtf? i think you've been smelling a little too much salt air.
and yesss! no school tomorrow! let's all hold hands, sing kumbayah, and hope there's none friday either!

I'm (mostly) Speechless

It was the loving school part so much, regardless of it being MAST or whatever. I mean, you were sick, and at home, and you were doing hw because you so desperately wanted to be back in school, instead of doing something fun, though that concept is probably lost on you, considering the posts you wrote during summer.

Im speechless about the last part. I really don't know what to say. I'm at a loss for words. Except, ??? and Ugghhllluammmehhhhmmmmmmm.

Misfile Story Spoiler (for Emily)

Yes! That's the whole premise of the story. Rumisiel was smoking cannabis, his bosses walked in, and he accidentally put Ash's folder in the girl folder, instead of the boy folder.

What number, and pertaining to what?

and marcos!

i heart misfile! it's like a friggin soap! it's awesome! but wait...did ash get a sex change or something?
and it was the number i guesses, you silly 'nana.

PSP Update 2.0

WOOT! It's finally here. After all this time. I know this doesn't mean anything to any of you, but oh well. It's great! In fact, I'm typing this using my PSP.

Lastly, guessed what?

I guessed the number!

whooot!

So...

I had the first baseball practice today and i saw the volleyball game woot. haha. The practice wasnt much we just had to run up stairs go down a hall way go down styairs and go back like for half an hour. Once things get going after thec stairs we would go in the weight room. But then i talked to jimmy this guy on the JV team and he went through the roster of 12 pitchers where 8 moved up to Varsity 2 arent playing and 1 is on JV but cant throw a strike for his life and another is on JV and hes good. So they have ONE pitcher muahaha. I lauph at the donkey who only has one pitcher.

Fullmetal

Fullmetal Alchemist is a show they used to put on [adult swim] (Cartoon Network) on Saturdays at 12:00 am and now put reruns Monday-Wednesday on [adult swim] at 1:00 am.

My day today was pretty bad until lunch, when it quickly and pleasently picked up. Even so, I had trouble concentrating for most of the day, which sucks. It isn't the first time this happened to me either. Oh well, that's over and nothing bad came of it anyways.

at the office...

marcos, i loved your drawing. as in serious love. and dammit, i KNOW i've seen "fullmetal alchemist" somewhere....who is it?
donna, if you're reading this, CALL ME! things to say. i left a message at your madre's.
and rockford's gonna join nuestro blogito. yupyupyup.
and erik....CONFESS, BOY, CONFESS! see what he'll say if you tell him you had sex with a porcupine, or something equally fun.
oh fuck. i have no idea what the chemistry and IB homework is. and i failed a spanish test today. as in, "F". yup....good job, huh? eh, just felt like announcing that.

Wohooo

Todays my first baseball practice after school woot. Ill tell you all how it goes.

Ughh

Every time I read the post three posts down (Donna's second post), I almost throw up. It makes me sick to my very core. I also recently came to the conclusion that if I had emotions, I could more easily emphasize with a lot of you.

But, I digress (sort of). The main reason I'm posting is to tell all that a drew something!, and allow you to view it. Go here. [Note: (It would have said this in the e-mail but I didn't send it to anyone) Inspired in part by Fullmetal Alchemist.]

Dominic Deegan

I know I already told you guys about this webcomic, but now I am HIGHLY recommending it. It is beyond words. Also, its not about videogames and its not vulgar like LICD or Sinfest, so none of you should have any problems with it. It's actually quite touching, romantic, and HILARIOUS. Dont be put off by the fact that its been around for almost three years and updates daily.

READ IT FROM THE BEGINNING.

I cannot stress this enough. It is the only way you'll understand it and be able to fully appreciate it. The plot is great and dynamic, with twists galore, and the characters are unique and amusing.

GO

. Now. I promise you'll like it. All of you.

Gladly

i present to you the heads up that the bullet has been removed from my ass and about poems are more to come once philiggy is sober...

and one more thing

those who have been on the blog since the beginning remember my little fly-in-the-shower spiel. Well, last night there was a gecko in the shower. But I didn't kill him. He was my friend. I looked at him. He was pretty. It's amazing: each of his tiny feet has five miniscule fingers. They're all so perfectly formed...but wow. And his eyes were black and shiny and beady. He was pretty indeed.

announcement

they sell (overpriced) enormous kosher dill pickles in the vending machines at school. I was going to get one, but the friggin machine wouldn't accept bills. :( But I will get one Monday. Oh yes, I will get one Monday.
I went to a debate meeting today. seems cool. the president of the team is a fellow Jew. I love finding them in unexpected places. Aaron Goldstein. Ouch. That's as bad as Sarah Diamond... :)

bell jar

i read it too. it was pretty good.
and riggy: your poem wins a prize!

You post

You shots in the ass good job.. Its not even light outside. I really only called you isa cause you had my bagel not really to talk to you.. you know im just kidding. =)

locks, lockers and random boxes in the middle of the hallway

yea... i got a lock. i put it on a locker. now i need to figure out which hallway i put it in. on the plus side i remember my combination. i almost missed my bus trying all the lockers to see which one was mine so i could get my math book out. now i seemed to have misplaced my locker yet again and must find it tomorrow. well i guess thats it for now.

mazel tov

2000 posts.
our lives are defined by numbers, aren't they? time, class periods, percentages...even computers, which control so many aspects of our lives, are merely strings of zeroes and ones. scary, isn't it, how we allow such abstract concepts to rule us. but hey, it's as logical a choice as any i guess...and probably a lot more consistent than people are.
so yay. 2000 posts. whoot.

Ok thats it

Im taking post 200 because i exist and im here so i dunno take post 2001.
200020002000 woot point at it and slam your face into the monitor.

First Day

Schedule:
1. Language Arts. Mr. Cruz is cool but really strict and he says plain and simple too much.
2. Algebra II. The seniors or juniors aren't really stupid, they just don't really want to be there. The teacher is awesome, he talks about philosophy and doesn't grade or even check hw.
3. Solar. Dr. Khalil talks so softly and with a really thick accent. I almost fell asleep in her class, but she's supposed to be awesome. Her first name is Wafa. Woot!
4. History. Looks like it's gonna be good, though too many projects, a research paper a semester and a book report a quarter. Hope it's comprehensive.
5. Health. What can I say, it's health. Bunch of stuff we already know. Followed by PE. W/E. We did get this awesome time capsule assignment thing though.
6. Chemistry. Mr Zawodni is teh r0xx0rz. Just look at his name. AMAZING. He's like a kindred spirit.

Homeport=Woodshop. Doesn't really matter because its homeport. We're in there fr like 12 minutes a day. But the teacher's cool.

Generation

Donna, you have to realize that at the present moment your our generation is very young and maturity tends to come with age and wisdom, so don't worry, they'll get there (supposedly).

all that noise, all that sound

Bye everyone! I'm gone to Columbus now...be back Saturday.

DAMMIT

I HATE WHEN THIS HAPPENS MY CREAM CHESE RAN AWAY AA SOMEONE SHIT ON THEM SELVES.

ooooh

that cream cheese is sex? right isa? *looks to isa for approval and confirmation*

today...

I bring you all something very special. Yes for those who have peaked behind my back and say the cream cheese please exit the door entitled DEATH and for those who kept their asses in their chairs and have some paitience please exit the door entitled LIFE. Now no were not gonna be smart donkeys were gonna be ignorant humans and we are going to .... look at the cream chese. Look in awe yes ive got your minds now.....
MMM TASTY ISNT IT!!!

Dream

I dreamed that the people at Donna's party, plus a couple Bio people were at my uncle Paul's big house in Martha's Vineyard. We were all running around and having fun, when Rick's mother showed up. So I hid in the third-floor boys' shower, and then she was coming (I haven't a clue why I was running from her; she's way cool), and I ran into my room (really Greg's) and it turned into my classroom at the preschool, and that's all I can remember. Except I know at some point I ran out the back door of the ground floor...and how I got there from my third-floor room without avoiding her is a mystery to me. It was odd. No Potter ones that I can remember...except Isa, that garlandgraves LJ that you posted the link for...if you look at her other posts, it is seriously hot stuff! It's like Potterotica. It's awesome. Lol. Hey Donna, are you thinking what I'm thinking...? *starts planning*

I Really Have to Stop Forgetting About this Thing

Every time I do, I end up having to read 50 posts, which is a lot more than I can take.

You should choose whatever elective you like the most. I would personally go with speech and debate, especially since the teacher is so good, but it's all up to you and whatever you are most akin to.

I can't remember what the worst movie I've ever seen was, as I tend not to watch movies I'm not going to like, but the worst video game I've ever played was this weird and pointless Luigi game for the SNES. You never did anything and it would get very frustrating very quickly.

I haven't had any weird dreams lately, ESPECIALLY any Harry Potter related ones.

To put in a link, highlite what you want to link, click on the toolbar icon next to the T with all the colors, put in the URL, and click OK.

One last thing. Donna, there is no reason to lose faith in our generation. I lost faith in all of humanity a couple years back, but it has been restored. You need to learn to accept the flaws people have to have and look beyond what you dislike to the redeeming qualities everyone possesses. Not everyone can be like you and think in your same manner. The most important thing is to hope, because the moment you despair, you start to see only the negative side of things, causing you to despair even further. Hope is humanity's most exemplary trait.
